I suddenly had a thought. Could be that Augustus loosing control over this and aggressively inssisting to win is because he has an unresolved trauma regarding how he couldn’t protect Melanie and she almost died? Now he worries to fail protecting Lucy as well. If so it can be an intresting point to expand on.

So glad that Mike decided to agree to a boundary and then go back on his word, really excited to see one of the last positive relationships Lucy has left fall apart because she’s sticking up for a guy who’s always choosing to let her down in return.

Augustus and Lucy are my fave and I don’t think she’s sticking up to Mike. I think she just doesn’t want be “that bad guy” and wants to do what’s right, by understanding that you can’t really force someone to not go somewhere because of her. Currently she cares about Augy more than anyone else, she doesn’t want him to stoop so low. They might have a fight over this but I don’t think it will be a long one.

Honestly same here. I totally get where Lucy is coming from and think she’s right to step in, goodness knows that people don’t need ammunition to suspect she’s to blame or behind it when people stick up for her behind her. She needs to set the record straight here and draw her own line and she’s right to do so but I’m personally really worried about her and Augustus both. The stress of this situation and worry for Lucy is obviously bringing back bad habits for Augustus and meanwhile some of Lucy’s bad habits of lashing out and isolating are making a return too. I would really hate for Lucy to lose the most supportive peer she has right now, even temporarily, and it would sting even harder if it’s yet another friend she decides it’s better to distance herself from because of Mike stuff…
