Boy, Mike didn’t seem to notice how good he had it with Lucy. They’ve been friends a long time and Mike lost sight of that.

Lucy has some shit to talk about with her therapist the next time they meet

I’d love for a back flash (or an upcoming session) of her time spent with a therapist.

Lucy is doing so good with just, rolling with this. I hope good things are on the way for her considering how amazingly she’s handling something that honestly probably takes more emotional bandwidth than she was expecting to use today

Mike: What do we do now?

Lucy: Wanna go see a bear ride a motorcycle?

Mike: DO I? LET’S ROLL!!!

(Later at the circus)

Mike: That bear is pretty good.

Lucy: Pigs are smarter then bears, but they can’t ride motorcycles.

Mike is clingier than a koala lol

This.. It’s beautiful! Lucy has grown so so much. I don’t think it’s enough of an apology personally. But they’re just kids, so I’ll take it. This is so dramatic but it’s turned into such a sweet moment of recovery for them

This is so sad. It really feels like Lucy’s mental health and emotional health once again take a backseat to Mike’s feelings. Her expression in the last few panels is heartbreaking and it just shows how much she doesn’t want to be saddled with a hug or touching rich

The reading I got from it was less that, and more that in the second of the middle three panels she realized she still partially likes him, and in the third i read her going “well fucking shit I thought I was over this bitch”

She definitely is putting mike before her anger at him, which friends do, we all just see it as bad because she had been constantly doing that until December happened, but i do think it’s a little healthier here. Don’t get me wrong, they’re children, so it’s not healthy at all, but it’s healthier than what they had been at, ya know?

I feel so genuinely bad for Lucy finding herself in this position again after everything. Sure there’s so much growth shown here and a lot to be proud of but it’s also her performing emotional labor for Mike again after everything, after all she’s practically explicitly said she’s done taking care of him. It’s so painful and I feel awful for her.

WOW do I feel bad for Lucy. Mike still has a long way to go, but this is a start!

Interesting reversal from the Acapulco arc when Lucy was the one crying and Mike was making the -_- expression while they hugged (beginning of the chapter “Intervention”).

I feel like her straight face is “why am I the one comforting him??” Pretty much the same as when Mike almost died again and made a similar (albeit more wrathful looking) straight face when comforting Lucy about it. It was like “why am I the one comforting HER??” It seems like they both hurt each other in identical severity
